How the hell do change everything without blowing up our whole life!
From Construction in UK to Sun and Surf in Barbados — Our Family's Leap of Faith
Hey, I’m Andy Cummins. I’m 43, married to Blandine, and a proud dad to three incredible kids. We’re originally from Jersey in the Channel Islands — a beautiful place, but let’s be honest, it’s not known for its sunshine.
I’ve worked in construction since I left school. I did well, built a career and eventually a successful business , and had a pretty good life on paper. But deep down, I just wasn’t happy. I didn’t enjoy the cold, the rain, or the grind. And after years of saying, “I want to change my life,” I finally realised the truth: if you want change, you’ve got to be the change you need and make it happen.
So we did. We packed up our house, said goodbye to what was comfortable, and moved to Barbados.
Life on the Welcome Stamp — And Why We Don’t Regret a Thing.
We came here on the Barbados Welcome Stamp, a remote work visa that gives you a chance to live and work from paradise. We swapped wellies for flip-flops, and now we’re figuring out how to build a life that actually works for us — more time together, more sunshine, and what seems to be a life with more meaning.
I still working remotely on my construction company back home whilst earning online , now I do it all online. I’m learning as I go — building skills, finding opportunities, and exploring how to earn a living remotely while enjoying life with my family. It’s not always easy, but it’s 100% worth it.
Why I Started This Blog
This site is here for anyone who’s ever thought, “There’s got to be more to life than this.” Because there is. I want to help people who are looking for change — whether it’s moving abroad, starting to work online, or just living more intentionally — to see that it’s possible.
I’m not a guru or a digital nomad influencer. I’m just a regular guy who got tired of waiting for the perfect time and decided to take a leap. And if you're reading this, maybe it's your time too.
